Counselling and Mental Health Support

Activated Care Services brings together counselling and mental health support that reaches people through a funded or referred pathway. If a program pays for your counselling, or another service has referred you, this is your door.

Private and employer funded counselling continues with Activated Concepts and Activated EAP. Same clinicians, same standards, different door.

Which door are you coming through?

Most people are surprised by how many ways counselling can be paid for. If you are not sure which applies to you, we will work it out with you before anything is booked.

NSW Victims Services

Counselling for eligible people affected by an act of violence, approved through the Victims Services counselling scheme. You do not pay for approved sessions.

NDIS

Counselling and psychology delivered under an NDIS plan as a capacity building support, for self managed, plan managed and agency managed participants.

Program and community funded

Counselling paid for by a funded program or service agreement rather than by you, including community programs and work funded through government contracts.

Referred by another service

Referrals from caseworkers, schools, GPs, community organisations and other providers, where the referring service or a program carries the cost.

What the support looks like

Evidence informed counselling and psychological support for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families, across anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, grief and the day to day weight of adjustment and change.

Support is trauma informed throughout, delivered by psychologists, counsellors and accredited mental health social workers, in person across the Hunter, Central Coast and Mid Coast, or by telehealth.

Counselling sits beside the other supports in the group, so choosing one door does not mean losing the rest. Disability support, family support and seniors support are all reachable from the same team.

How this works right now

Activated Concepts delivers these supports today and holds the registrations and funding agreements behind them. Activated Care Services takes them on progressively, as registrations and funding approvals allow, and renewals are arranged through Activated Care Services wherever that is legally able.

Nothing changes for anyone currently supported. Same people, same supports, same funding arrangements, same phone number. Participants, families and referrers are written to directly and in good time, so nobody finds out from a website.

If you need help now

This page is not a crisis service. If life is in danger call 000. Lifeline is available 24 hours on 13 11 14, and 13YARN on 13 92 76 offers a yarn with an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander crisis supporter.
